"There is only you and your camera. The limitations in your photography are in yourself, for what we see is what we are.” ~Ernst Haas (1921-1986)...
Hi.... I'm Donna Kay, and I am so honored that you want to learn more about me! My story includes roles as a mom, wife, daughter, friend, Christian, sister, mimi, southern woman and mother-in-law... and photographer. Photography is both my dream and passion. I am constantly working on my craft, taking workshops and attending conferences to become better, learn and offer the best to my clients.
I greatly believe in giving back, and the cause that has captured my heart is Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep (NILMDTS), which I was accepted into as an affiliate photographer in 2011. While my heart breaks with each of these special sessions as well as during the editing afterwards, I also feel blessed to be able to have a part in a family's healing from such a great loss. It is an honor to volunteer my time and resources to such a cause, and I am thankful for the gifts I've been given to contribute.
I am proud to be a member Professional Photographers of America (PPA). They set such high standards for the professional photography industry, and I appreciate the guidelines to follow in running my own business.
Some other tidbits about me....
It drives me crazy to be called Donna... please call me DonnaKay!
I LOVE Canon... I shoot with a 5D Mark III and a 1D X.
I love Apple products, and own too many of them... (I guess I could be described as a tech geek!)
I LOVE purses, but my designer purses have had to move over and make room for a closet full of camera purses!
I'm left-handed... and I think that "right-brained" thing probably has some truth to it!
I cry easily at movies... or just when I’m around anyone else who’s crying...
I'd rather skip meals and just eat ice cream (but I don't)...
I do not want to be the cheapest or the most expensive photographer... I want to be worth my price!
I am so glad that you've considered me to be your Photographer, and I look forward to a long friendship with many memories captured! ............. DonnaKay
